State of Pennsylvania Monument (by Ag) Gettysburg, PA
Little reminders of what I don't miss
Me: I'm so excited to take you home!
Gizmo: I'm excited to see your hometown! What's in York?
Me: ...
Gizmo: ...
Me: Oh! York, Pennsylvania was actually the first capital of the United States under the Articles of Confederation!
Gizmo: Cool!
Me: Yeah! Downtown they have a colonial tavern, a house that belonged to a revolutionary general and the old courthouse where the Continental Congress met for nine months and adopted the Articles of Confederation!
Gizmo: I love history stuff!
Me: Yeah! Let me see what else they have going these days (goes online)
Gizmo: ...
Me: ...
Gizmo: Well?
Me: They're closed.
Gizmo: Which parts?
Me: All of them.
Gizmo: Now?
Me: Through mid April.
Gizmo: ...
Me: Philadelphia is only two hours away.
Gizmo: Do they close?
Me: Not for six months at a time, no.

Middle of Nowhere, PA is gorgeous.
Sometimes I miss these views.
Then I remember freezing rain and Florida isn’t so bad.
