I've thought many times, with Edgar Wright directing, that Simon Pegg is the only logical choice for Ant Man. Plus, he's awesome.
I’d be pleased especially since it would confirm that the approach they are taking with Ant-Man is fundamentally different from the current Marvel blockbuster blueprint.
There were stories this week about how Marvel has a “plan” for films through 2021 and every half assed analysis has parroted the same, tired “Will audiences have lost interest in the genre by then?” critique.
"Guardians of the Galaxy," "Ant-Man" and potential projects like "Dr. Strange" and "Black Panther" can be very different films from the ones that led up to "The Avengers." And comic book fans understand how different types of characters and different types of stories can exist in the same "universe." Hopefully Marvel will help media watchers grasp it too.

PRACTICALLY KICKING YOUR ASS IN EVERY WAY!!!
A poster for the 1944 film serial Captain America, chapter 15, “The Toll of Doom”.
PERFECT film marketing.
"Do you want to go see the new Captain America serial?"
"Meh. I dunno’"
"But look at that lobby card. It has guys standing in suits!"
"What?! Let’s go!"
All of these stories about the hospital remind me…
I always think there should be a female Israeli counterpart to Captain America named Beth Israel.
