So I’m choosing to feel good about this for the moment and think about how far we have come as a society. And I’m choosing to give kudos to the WWE for coming out in support, knowing full well that there will be certain portions of their audience who will object. It’s the right thing to do and it’s the kind of choice that helps wrestling from ending up marginalized as the culture progresses. And it’s smart business. They will get a lot of good publicity from this going into a pay-per-view weekend.
And I reserve the right to take it all back when they turn this into a tasteless and poorly thought out angle and handle it so atrociously that I will once again have to be ashamed of my love for wrestling.
Because I know how this business works. And it’s usually not pretty.
